For this week I chose to place my objects on a white table cloth and used a normal clip on desk lamp. I noticed the desk lamp was more yellowish so it definitely gave my photos a very warm glow. I also did mine in the evening so it was quite dark. I did struggle with variety and had trouble finding 20 shots that I felt weren't too similar.
I like any and all kinds of feedback!
Below are the 20 that I chose as well as 2 pictures of my setup.
Hi Cassy,
ReplyDeleteThe subject matter and color in these images are lovely! You definitely have an eye for creating a mysterious scene with your use of light and shadow. Have you tried playing with the exposure a little to see if you like how adding a few stops in each direction will look? I also struggled with finding 20 images that I wanted to share. If you had not mentioned that in your comment I would have never guessed that was a struggle for you. You really do have a wonderful eye for composition and I look forward to viewing more of your work.
Hi Cassy, I found your pictures to be so pretty and well done. They have such an old fashioned feminine feel to them. I would never have thought of putting pearls with a pumpkin but it came out wonderful. My only wish is that a couple of them were a little more exposed but I do understand how difficult it must have been at night with the one light. Beautiful job!
ReplyDeleteHello Cassy, I really like this series of images. I like the way you chose alot of texture for the setups, it made me feel like the subjects were cozied in to a special space and that invited me in as a viewer. I realize from my experience that exposure is an issue and I look forward to you working with that (along with me, for sure). The choice of subjects and the composition is really strong. Great work, I look forward to seeing more! - Elline
